Gazebo vs Pergola vs Pavilion. What’s the difference?
When looking for an outdoor shade structure for your backyard, there are three primary types of structures you might come across. Gazebos, pergolas, and pavilions. They all sound cool, but what’s the difference?
Starting with the most common term, ‘gazebos’. Gazebos are hard-top structures with a signature pyramid pointed top. Gazebos have separate roof pieces that come together to form either a singular or small roof peak, depending on the size.
As a result, rain falls off all 4 sides, and the look of the structure is generally the same from any angle.
Yardistry Gazebos also have corresponding accessories, made to be perfectly compatible with your gazebo!

‘Pergolas’ are the second most common term used. Pergolas are partial-top structures with a signature crisscross roof that still lets through some sun and gives more of a poolside/tropical villa vibe.
As a result, rain and sun can still come through, and the look of the structure is generally the same from any angle.

Finally, we have pavilions, a term used a little less often. Pavilions are hard-top structures with a classic A-shape roof. Pavilions have two rectangular sides to the roof which combine to create a long roof peak.
As a result, rain falls off two sides, and the structure will have two distinct looks depending on the angle.
Much like Gazebos, Yardistry Pavilions also have corresponding accessories made to be perfectly compatible!
